Ghana’s FDA urges consumers to report counterfeit cosmetics

Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority has advised consumers to report counterfeit and expired products for investigation, according to a report published by the Ghana News Agency.

Shoppers have been advised to check products carefully for expiry dates before they buy or consume them as well as verifying registration.  

The FDA has rolled out a public education campaign designed to help consumers identify counterfeit products. At the same time, Zakaria Braimah, Upper East Regional Head of the Food and Drugs Authority has warned distributors that the FDA will pursue and prosecute any traders found selling fake or expired products.
