GHB Bank joins forces with Global Shea Alliance to support international expansion of small Ghanaian businesses

The GHB Bank has teamed up with the Global Shea Alliance (GHB) is a bid to support the international expansion of 10 small businesses from Ghana, with the companies showcasing their products at the recent Dubai-based Africa Cosmetics Products Exhibition.

The participating businesses were given the opportunity to network with cosmetic producers at the exhibition, organised by GSA, promoting their shea butter for ingredient use, as well as aiming to receive investment for retooling purposes. Products exhibited by the 10 companies ranged from raw shea butter to body lotions, creams, lip balms and body scrubs.

A statement from the GSA said, “The event was visited by over 10,000 people from the beauty, spa and organic cosmetic product industries from Middle East, Asia, South America, Europe and Africa.
“Participants made over 800 contacts and signed five contracts to supply their products to different buyers.”

As part of the partnership, buyer meetings were established between the businesses and distributor and retailers from Asia, Africa, Middle East and South America.

Indeed, it seems the initiative generated positive responses, with Founder of Ghana-based R&R Naturals brand Madam Valerie Obaze stating, “I am really excited to participate in this year’s exhibition. I was fortunate to have signed a contract to supply my products to a retailer in Dubai.”
