THE WHAT? Circular beauty ingredients supplier Full Circle has teamed up with zero waste brewer and distiller Adnams to launch a new plant-based ingredient for beauty and personal care applications made from gin distillery waste.
THE DETAILS The aptly named, trademarked, Gin TONIQ is the first in a planned series of upcycled water-soluble actives.
Through its partnership with Suffolk-based Adnams, Full Circle will transform surplus locally-grown grain ferment into a moisturising skin care ingredient, said to have a soothing and calming effect as well as deliver eight hours of hydration. The alcohol-free by-product is captured straight from distillation and combined with sustainably sourced glycerine, eliminating the need for any preservative.
THE WHY? Harry Mcllwraith, General Manager at Full Circle, explains, “Gin TONIQ proves that there is so much value in what many would consider to be a waste product. As with the rest of our portfolio, this new launch supports our mission to help beauty and personal cate brands transition towards a circular economy without compromising product quality or performance.”
