Fragrance and flavour company Givaudan has expanded its production with the opening of the new $100 million production hub and global perfumery school, based in Singapore.
The new site is the company’s largest investment to date for the fragrance arm of Givaudan and cements Singapore as Singapore’s position as the key regional hub for new production innovation and global brand-building in the consumer businesses industry, according to Economic Development Board Chairman Beh Swan Gin.
Based in Switzerland, the new Fragrance Creative Centre Perfumery School is aimed at training and developing new perfumers in Asia and is the first campus outside of France. With the Givaudan’s fine fragrance division growing in Asia, the new site will act as the central location for this arm of the company.
Givaudan CEO Gilles Andrier said, “We are especially excited to open our first-ever Perfumery School campus located outside of France. This marks a very significant milestone in our company’s history and reinforces our commitment to Asia, Singapore and our customers in the region.”
The school will offer fragrance evaluation facilities and consumer insights.
