The global market for ethoxylates, at type of surfactant widely used in personal care products, is predicted to reach a value of U$11,657.2m by 2019, registering a compound annual growth rate of 3.19 percent.

The estimates feature in a new report entitled ‘Ethoxylates Market by Type and by Application – Global Trends & Forecasts to 2019’ by US market research firm Research and Markets.

The report predicts high demand for ethoxylates from growing personal care and household markets, particularly in developing countries.

Surfactants such as ethoxylates are active emulsifying agents that help keep oil and water together and are widely used in personal care products such as shampoos, toothpaste and face creams as well as household products such as detergent.

Household & personal care is currently the major application for the ethoxylates market with around 52.9 percent of the market share in terms of volume during 2013. The remainder was dominated by the pharmaceutical and oilfield chemical markets which are also expected to register strong growth over the forecast period. 

Region-wise, Europe is leading the ethoxylates market, in terms of volume in 2014 yet Asia-Pacific will also experience high growth between 2014 and 2019.
