THE WHAT? Glossier has entered into a deal with Sephora to see its products stocked in-store and online as of next year, in the beauty company’s first external retail partnership, according to the Wall Street Journal.
THE DETAILS Sephora stores across the U.S. and Canada will sell Glossier products as of 2023, with financial terms of the deal not being disclosed.
The move follows Glossier closing its physical locations during the early months of the pandemic. However, it has since opened four locations with additional stores planned for Washingint D.C.
THE WHY? The collaboration will expand Glossier’s retail distribution and ramps up the company’s push into physical retail.
The tie-in follows online distributers such as Warby Parker and Allbirds looking to increase sales via a physical sales path.
Chief Executive Kyle Leahy said, “We know our customers want to find us [in Sephora.] This marks a new chapter in our omnichannel strategy.”
