‘Greater agility and faster decision making’: Coty shakes up Consumer Beauty division

Fresh from the news that Ulta is delisting its Rimmel London brand, it’s no wonder that Coty is reorganizing its Consumer Beauty leadership team, according to a report published by WWD.

The US beauty behemoth has created three new Global Chief Marketing Officer roles, one for each segment of the unit (color cosmetics, retail hair & body care; lifestyle scenting, and Cover Girl & Sally Hansen & consumer beauty US) and promoted Mike Bryce, Mark Cooper and Ukonwa Ojo to fill these positions respectively. Current CMO, Friedemann Schmid is leaving the company in September to ‘pursue other interests’.

“The three CMOs will enable Consumer Beauty to drive even greater focus on our differentiated categories as well as better agility and faster decision making,” Laurent Kleitman, President of Consumer Beauty told WWD.

Two further promotions have also been announced with Sean Foster named Senior Vice President of Digital and E-commerce for Consumer Beauty and Global E-commerce and Jing Mertoglu appointed Senior Vice President, Consumer Marketing and Insights for Global Consumer Beauty.
