Symrise has announced a stellar set of results for fiscal 2015. Double-digit growth in every region spurred sales to new heights – up 23 percent to €2.6 billion, while EBIDTA soared 23 percent to €572.2 million and annual net income rose 17 percent to €246.8 million.
Dr Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, CEO of Symrise AG, said, “In 2015 it was our decisive goal to substantially grow our business. We made targeted investments in growth and in expanding our competencies and know-how. Our portfolio clearly shows the benefits: It has expanded beyond our traditional product range and allows us to serve new, strategic business areas such as functional ingredients for everyday products. In 2015 we were once again one of the fastest-growing companies in our industry.” He added, “A priority for us in 2016 is the cross-linking of our extensive expertise. In this way we will not only continue on track for success but also extend our competitive edge with a widely diversified portfolio.”
The scent and care segment grew by 10 percent (4 percent at local currency), to reach a value of €1,073.7 million, with all business divisions contributing to growth, in particular aroma molecules and cosmetic ingredients, above all menthol and cosmetic active ingredients.
The flavors and fragrances company anticipates that 2016 will be a ‘challenging’ year, but says it is well positioned to continue its course of profitable growth, outperforming the global market in both flavors and fragrances. The company’s acquisition of Pinova Holdings in January of this year will give the company access to additional natural ingredients going forward.
