THE WHAT? Clean make-up brand Saie beauty has closed a seed round attracting a number of investors, including Unilever Ventures and Gwyneth Paltrow, according to a report published by WWD.
THE DETAILS The brand, which launched exclusively on Paltrow’s lifestyle platform Goop in 2019, recently launched an illuminating product designed to create a glow that ‘looks amazing on Zoom calls’ and has turned its hand to producing sanitizer, which it sends out with every order, free of charge.
THE WHY? While make-up sales are flatlining, clean beauty is trending and presumably both Paltrow and Unilever Ventures can see potential in this agile brand. For its part, Saie is piling the funds into the launch of its first complexion line this fall, created in collaboration with its social media fanbase.
