THE WHAT? Helsinki is set to end travel-size bottle requirements by summer 2023, according to a report by YLE.
THE DETAILS Travelers departing from Helsinki airport will no longer be required to remove liquids and electronics from their carry-on luggage, making security checks easier.
Normal sized cosmetics will also be allowed to be taken on board in hand luggage.
THE WHY? As international travel continues to rebound following the pandemic, airports are continuing to make the security process easier for travellers.
Finavia’s Vice President of Security Ari Kumara said: “A year ago we introduced advanced security screening technology at Helsinki Airport, which means passengers no longer need to remove liquids or electronic devices from their carry-on luggage. The change has sped up security checks.”
