THE WHAT? Home appliance company Sharp Corp has entered the cosmetics market with the launch of a medicated moisturizing cream.

THE DETAILS The Japanese company will follow the up the initial launch with a medicated toner and medicated emulsion in the coming months. 

The products contain anti-inflammatory and moisturising ingredients, and will be sold on Sharp’s online store.

THE WHY? Sharps pivoted its production to face masks in April 2020 following the pandemic outbreak, and is now hoping to make beauty products that address skincare problems that occur from wearing masks. 

A spokesperson said, “In the future, we would like to link our beauty appliances with cosmetics.”
