If at first you don’t succeed: Walgreens Boots Alliance to revise Rite Aid deal AGAIN

Walgreens Boots Alliance is planning to amend its Rite Aid deal once again to address concerns raised by regulators, according to a report published by Reuters, which quotes Bloomberg as its source.

After the original acquisition was denied, the drugstore operator struck a deal to buy half of the Rite Aid portfolio for US$5.18 billion in June. The pharmacy giant is said to be in the final stage of talks with the Federal Trade Commission and is thought to have modified the deal still more to alleviate antitrust concerns.

Both companies declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.
