The Founder of IT Cosmetics, Jamie Kern Lima, is stepping down from her role as CEO of the brand. Kern Lima founded It Cosmetics 11 years ago, selling the brand to L’Oréal for a cool US$1.2 billion in 2016, remaining in situ as CEO of the brand.
“The time has come to step into an exciting new professional and personal chapter ahead. I believe part of my calling on this earth is to inspire women and empower women everywhere to transform their self-confidence and learn truly to believe in themselves and in their own power and possibility, and I am so excited to focus all my time on being of service in this way. I can’t wait to share more with you soon” Kern Lima posted on Instagram.
Kern Lima, who last summer gave birth to a daughter ‘after 10 years of trying’ (as she revealed on her Instagram page) was technically L’Oréal’s sole female CEO, as Forbes reports, although 66 percent of its brands are led by women, they are more usually given the title of Global Brand President. L’Oréal is yet to release a statement on the make-up mogul’s departure, or announce her replacement.
