Japanese skin care brand Fancl has re-launched onto the Singaporean market, according to a report in the Straits Times.
The preservative-free brand opened a counter on the ground floor of Orchard Road’s Isetan Scotts department store last week. Fancl’s Singapore website has also resumed functionality, offering promotions and product information.
The skin care brand first entered the Singaporean market in 2000, building to a presence of 13 stores before quitting the country in 2014 due to falling sales. The brand is now distributed in Singapore by Fantastic Naturals Company.
Christopher Chan, Managing Director at Fantastic Naturals, told The Straits Times that the brand aims to open up 25 doors in Singapore, including both counters and standalone stores, employing more than 100 staff.
“We know people have missed us. We wanted to reorganize our operations and do sufficient preparation before re-entering the Singapore market. Now we want to be in Singapore forever,” said Chan. “This time, we hope to do better, through various avenues like outdoor advertising, newspaper advertisements, our in-house magazine and through social media.”
