THE WHAT?  Sharon White, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, has informed the Partnership Board that it is time to begin searching for her successor as her term nears its end. This move starts the process of a leadership shift for the partnership.

THE DETAILS Beyond just initiating the search for a new Chairman, White has also urged the Board to review the responsibilities of the Chairman’s role. Rita Clifton, the Deputy Chairman and head of the Nominations Committee will oversee the appointment process, ensuring it complies with the Partnership’s Constitution and receives the necessary approval from the Partnership Board.

THE WHY?  White’s decision comes as an effort to ensure a smooth transition in leadership, which is critical for maintaining stability in the Partnership’s operations and initiatives. After guiding the Partnership through the pandemic and significant economic challenges, she is focused on leaving the organisation in solid hands for continued progress and growth in the future.
