THE WHAT? Johnson & Johnson has appointed Golin to oversee the PR for its North American Skin Heath business, according to a report by PR Week.
THE DETAILS Looking after Neutrogena, Clean & Clear and Aveeno in the U.S. and Neutrogena, Aveeno and J&J in Canada, the Interpublic Group agency will build strategic earned media, social media and influencer plans.
The seven-figure account for Golin follows a formal review over the summer, with J&J Global Comms leader Donna Lorenson saying at the time, “As the consumer landscape is rapidly evolving, it is necessary to confirm that we have the right capabilities and partners to best position our skin-health brands to compete effectively in this dynamic marketplace.”
THE WHY? J&J works with an array of PR agencies including WPP’s BCW and Omnicom’s Porter Novelli.
Discussing the choice to hire Golin, the company said in a statement, “We believe Golin offers the right capabilities to support the growth objectives for our Skin Health business where we are focused on skin care products and solutions that are rooted in science and endorsed by healthcare professionals.”
