Johnson & Johnson to become latest personal brand to halt sales in Russia

THE WHAT? Johnson & Johnson (J&J) is to become the latest brand to halt sales in Russia following its invasion of the Ukraine, and will no longer sell personal care products in the country, according to a report by Reuters.

THE DETAILS The personal care giant will continue to supply medicines and medicine devices, as these are not included in sanctions.

However, it will no longer enrol further patients in clinical trials its holding in Russia. J&J gets around 1 percent of its sales from the country.

THE WHY? The decision is a response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. J&J joins companies such as Procter & Gamble, AbbVie and Lush in boycotting the country.
