Jurlique forced to issue product recall due to incorrect labelling

THE WHAT? The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued an urgent product recall for some Jurlique products, following incorrect ingredient labelling and subsequent allergy fears.

THE DETAILS The Australian skincare brand has recalled its Jurlique Activating Water Essence 150ml, the Jurlique The Iconic Set and Jurlique Activating Water Essence Duo after they were found to have incorrect ingredients labelled.

According to the ACCC website, “The product does not have the correct mandatory ingredient label and may contain different ingredients to those identified on the label.”

The affected product batch was sold between 27th February 2020 to 1st March 2020, with the ACCC advising consumers to cross check the products with the published ingredients list found on Jurlique’s website.

THE WHY? The products have been recalled due to consumers having potentially been exposed to, “ingredients they are sensitive or allergic to. If a user suffers an adverse reaction, they will not be able to check the ingredients list to identify the possible cause and seek appropriate treatment,” according to the ACCC.
