THE WHAT? Kao participated in Kobe’s Plastic Next recycling event on October 1. The J-beauty giant was among several retailers, consumer product manufacturers and recyclers to participate with the city to recycle used refill packs of household and personal care items.

THE DETAILS Residents were encouraged to recycle used refill packs via 75 dedicated collection points at retail outlets throughout the city.

THE WHY? The goal of the event was to boost recycling rates in the city, moving closer to circularity. Kao is hoping to effectively collect used refill packs and realise horizontal recycling for reuse in film-type packaging through collaboration with partners.
