Coolboxes designed expressly for cosmetics are tipped to become the next big thing, according to a report published in the Daily Mail.
According to the article, a recent study conducted by Samsung and ao.com found that some three million British women keep their cosmetics in the fridge, believing the cool environment will not only preserve the ‘freshness’ of their beauty products, but also provide a pleasant cooling sensation upon application.
Property developers are also starting to add cosmetic fridges to the list of luxury amenities an apartment must boast if it is to attract the super wealthy. In London’s Rathbone Square development, the penthouse apartments have a dedicated cosmetic coolbox installed – yours for a cool £4.475 million.
Industry experts advise that natural and organic products that do not contain preservatives may benefit from refrigeration, however, the efficacy of products containing retinol and vitamin C will be adversely affected by extreme temperatures.
