Kroger is to start selling CBD products and will become the latest U.S. retailer to bow to the growing desire for cannabidiol-based personal care items.
The supermarket retailer will sell the likes of lotions and potions from some 945 of its 2,700 stores. Products will be sold under the likes of Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, Smith’s and Harris Teeter will launch from the end of June in 17 states.
Taking to a statement, the company said, “Like many
retailers, we are offering our customers a highly-curated selection of topical
products like lotions, balms, oils and creams that are infused with
hemp-derived CBD.
“CBD is a naturally-occurring and non-intoxicating compound that has
promising benefits and is permitted within federal and state regulations. Our
limited selection of hemp-derived CBD topical products is from suppliers that
have been reviewed for quality and safety.”
