L Brands to slash 200 jobs as Victoria’s Secret owner restructures business

L Brands has announced that it is to make some 200 employees redundant as part of a restructuring process aimed at refocusing the business on core categories.

The owner of Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret is planning to create three units within its Victoria’s Secret business: Lingerie, Pink and Beauty. The positions set to be eliminated are all based in New York and Columbus.

The US retailer reported better than expected same-store sales for March last week, up 3 percent versus the expected 1.5 to 2 percent, although down on last year’s 9 percent gain.
