French beauty brand L’Occitane has invested in color cosmetics brand LimeLight by Alcone, which produces natural skin care and make-up products.
The investment will see the company acquire 40 percent of the company’s US business and will enable L’Occitane to widen its foothold in the US color cosmetics market, while also expanding LimeLight’s presence in the market through L’Occitane’s resources.
As part of the deal, L’Occitane will also join forces with LimeLight to develop the business model outside of the US, which comes as part of the company’s plans to build a successful portfolio of color cosmetics brands as part of its omni-channel expansion strategy, and for LimeLight to boost its global foothold.
Mr. Reinold Geiger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of L’Occitane, said, “As we expand into the colour cosmetics sector and explore the growth potential from new business ideas, we have been actively looking for quality brands that align with our corporate ethos of using the best natural ingredients and respecting the environment, while also offering a high potential return on investment. We have found the ideal partner with LimeLight, the company has great potential in the US and internationally and there is an excellent understanding and a true fit with the management.”
