L’Oréal has partnered with Matrix and 8i to launch a virtual reality hair education program aimed at salon stylists.
The program is hoped to have a positive affect for hair stylists and allow them to use the virtual reality app instead of paying out for costly training trips.
Partnering with 8i, L’Oréal is offering the virtual reality program as part of the Matrix Academy, 30 of which are held across the US and is poised for further growth in 2017.
The move follows positive results from early beta tests on hairdressers and follow’s the launch of the company’s Makeup Genius app earlier this year. The app will have an immersive room-scale volumetric VR experience that features photorealistic holograms, allowing the user to view the tutorial from all angles.
