L’Oréal’s Indian division has ushered in a new parental benefit package in a bid to attract and retain high-potential employees, according to a report published by The Economic Times.
The French beauty giant has extended its maternity leave allowance from 14 weeks to 26 weeks. Expectant mothers will also receive pre-commute assistant from six months of pregnancy, reduced hours for the first two weeks of their return to work, flexible working options and child care allowance for the first two years of their child’s life.
“The business case of an enhanced maternity leave policy and other parental benefits is to retain high potential talent, enhance productivity and make the company an attractive employer,” Mohit James, Director of Human Resources, L’Oréal India told The Economic Times.
Fathers have not been forgotten – new dads will be eligible for two weeks’ paid leave.
