L’Oréal India looks to boost women in the workplace with 50 new scholarship places for Class 12 students

Women that have completed Class 12 in India have been invited by L’Oréal India to apply for one of the 50 scholarship places available for its 14th For Young Women in Science Scholarship (FYWIS) program.

Participants of the program will receive Rs. 250,000 in scholarship funding, which goes to helping financially disadvantaged women complete their scientific education. This must be completed in a recognised college or university within the country.

An extension of the international L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science partnership, the FYWIS program received 3,000 entries last year and is eligible for women that have passed class 12 exams from across India in the current academic year, which ended March 2017. Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 85 percent in PCM/PCB and be under 19 years old as 31st May this year.

Mr. Jean-Christophe Letellier, Managing Director, L’Oréal India, said, “L’Oréal strongly believes that science is the source of progress, and the contribution of women is vital to its future. For the 14th year, we are proud to remain dedicated to supporting talented women to pursue their aspirations in the field of science.”

With an entry deadline of July 10th, 2017, applicants can study in any scientific field, from medicine, engineering, information technology, pharmacy, biotechnology, and other scientific graduate courses.
