L’Oreal USA launches 10th annual Women of Worth competition

L’Oreal USA has launched its tenth annual Women of Worth competition, which encourages the US public to nominate women that are making a difference to their community to receive a US$10,000 award.

Women of Worth is inspired by L’Oreal’s slogan “Because You’re Worth It,” and aims to “celebrates the intrinsic worth and beauty of all women.”

A total of 90 women have been honoured by the campaign since it launched, for giving their time to causes such as mentoring at-risk youth, empowering young Latinas, advancing the detection of breast cancer and addressing child hunger.

Karen T. Fondu, President of L’Oreal Paris, said,  ” At L’Oreal Paris, we believe that all women are worth it. We know that when empowered, women can overcome any obstacle and accomplish whatever they set out to achieve.

“For the past decade, Women of Worth has strived to recognize women who have faced adversity and found a way to make a difference in the lives of others. With Women of Worth, our goal is to provide honorees with a national platform to raise awareness for their important organizations, as well as inspire others to pursue their passions.”

Nominations for the next 10 honourees are being accepted until May 15 at womenofworth.com.

A panel of judges will select 10 women to each receive US$10,000 towards her cause. One woman will be named the National Honouree and awarded an additional US$25,000, following public voting later this year.
