L’Oréal has announced the launch of a new app Pocket Coach dedicated to assisting new members of staff in learning the company culture.
Hailed by the company as the ‘a breakthrough in the world of Digital Human Resources’; the app aims to educate staff on the company through videos, written testimonials, and learning through gaming.
The app was created last year with newcomers from across 30 countries helping to devise the content, which includes ‘capsules of content on topics such as entrepreneurship, agility, networking and cooperation’. These capsules then offer users a mixture of text, photos, videos, testimonials, quizzes and mini-games, with users then being set real-life ‘missions’ based on the certain capsule they’re in.
As a way to allow a ‘productive escape’ from their job, the app is intended for use of around 5-10 minutes per day for the first month of employment and highlights the company’s huge investment into refining its management practices.
