L’Oréal launches Virtual Reality recruitment tool

L’Oréal UK & Ireland has announced the launch of a virtual reality experience which will form part of its graduate assessment scheme, according to a report published by OnRec.

“We anticipate that the Virtual Reality (VR) experience has the potential to offer a vital layer of insight into the candidate’s character and decision-making skills whilst presenting the candidate with an exciting and palpable real world experience,” said Alexandra Bennett, Graduate Talent Acquisition Manager at the French beauty giant’s UK arm. “At L’Oréal, we believe that we are a perfect match for those hungry to make a big impact and it’s essential that the recruits take responsibility from day one. This new technology will bring that demand to life.”

The experience will allow graduates to tour the French beauty giant’s offices, as well as exposing them to a meeting scenario in order to assess their personality and situational judgement. L’Oréal is said to be the first UK beauty firm to use VR in its recruitment process.
