L’Oréal moves into Brazilian oil research park

Beauty giant L’Oréal has become a resident of the EMC Corp oil and research centre, based in Rio De Janeiro’s Technology Park and is expected to open a research centre focusing on hair, skin, body, nail and deodorant products in the first half of 2017.

L’Oréal is amongst a number of companies moving into the park, which moves it on from its original purpose as an energy research centre as Brazil gets hit by a downturn in its oil industry.

According to Reuters, L’Oréal said in a statement, “For us, it’s always interesting to be surrounded by innovative companies.”

Indeed, while the energy industry is said to be a priority for the park, it’s now not it’s exclusive goal.
