L’Oréal is pushing forward in its sustainability drive with the announcement of a planned new solar energy installation, said to be the largest of its kind by a private company.
The company will develop the installation at its Kentucky-based Florence manufacturing plant, with contract negotiations said to be still ongoing.
Eric Wolff, Vice President of L’Oréal’s manufacturing operations said, “The value of sustainability, from a L’Oréal standpoint, is non-negotiable.”
Being the largest move of its kind for the company, the news came as a discussion between Wolff and representatives from Mazak Corp., Balluff Inc. and Celanese Corp. discussed the future of manufacturing in the area, which has seen a surge in companies expanding or relocating to the area, and the problems held by the companies.
