L’Oréal realignment: Carol Hamilton promoted to Group President

Carol Hamilton has been promoted to Group President of the Luxe Division of L’Oréal amid its realignment strategy.

As part of the realignment Xavier Vey has moved up to President and Suriya Parkwusan has taken over Lancôme.

In other L’Oréal news as previously reported by Global Cosmetics News, L’Oréal is said to be developing flexible, wearable electronics that are capable of determining a person’s beauty needs, according to a report published by Forbes magazine.

The company’s Technology Incubator has teamed up with the University of Illinois for a research project aimed at understanding the real-life changes of skin over time via the medium of wearable flexible electronics.

“In the future, one could imagine that a simple epidermal electronic on the skin could alert you of all your beauty needs, and coach you on how best to apply your product and customize your beauty regimen,” Guive Balooch, Vice President of L’Oréal’s Technology Incubator told Forbes magazine.

Wearers would scan the wearable circuit with a smartphone to collect information and assess their skin’s needs and the suitability of various products.
