Having already committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the production of its beauty lines by 60 percent, L’Oréal has announced its ambition to become a ‘carbon balanced’ company by 2020.
In partnership with its suppliers, the French beauty giant will work within its sustainable sourcing of raw materials projects to capture carbon in a quantity equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions related to its business.
The company pointed to an initiative to install more efficient stoves for its shea butter suppliers in Burkina Faso as a concrete example of measures being taken to reduce its carbon footprint.
