L’Oréal USA has announced that, thanks to its efforts to up its use of renewable energy, is has been invited to join the EPA’s Green Power Partnership Top 100 list of the country’s largest green power users.
The US arm of the French beauty giant sources 96 percent of its total energy requirements from renewable sources, the equivalent to 86 million kWh of green power, annually, making it one of the biggest climbers in the EPA rankings.
“We are proud to be recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency for our green power use,” said Jay Harf, L’Oréal Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability. “By making the choice to use clean, renewable energy, our organization becomes more sustainable while also sending out a message that using green power is a sound business decision and an important tool in reducing one’s carbon footprint in the fight against climate change.”
