Lancôme names Neelofa as its first Southeast Asia ambassador

THE WHAT? L’Oréal-owned Lancôme has named Neelofa as its first regional ambassador for Southeast Asia, according to a report published by the New Straits Times.

THE DETAILS The Malaysian actress has represented the brand at a national level since 2017, making history as its first hijab-wearing face. She will now represent all three of the brand’s key categories (skin care, make-up and fragrance) across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand and star in the brand’s first Eid campaign for 2021.

“It has been a dream to work with a brand that shares the same values of always pursuing happiness, dreams and living life to the fullest in the most beautiful and meaningful way,” Neelofa told the New Straits Times.

THE WHY? With 7.6 million followers on Instagram and a host of high-profile campaigns to her name, Neelofa’s influence extends beyond her native Malaysia. Lancôme GM, Angeline Foo, explains, “After working in partnership with [Neelofa], we are extremely proud to celebrate this tremendous milestone of Neelofa being named as the first Malaysian as the first SEA regional ambassador.”
