Lancôme has named Paralympian swimmer Yip Pin Xiu as the face of its latest campaign in Singapore, according to a report published by The Straits Times. The athlete is said to be the first wheelchair user to front a major advertising campaign for the brand in the country.
“Pin Xiu is a natural fit as she is a force to be reckoned with. Her story is phenomenal and, despite all her success, she remains humble, kind-hearted and so positive in anything she embarks on,” a spokesperson for the brand told The Straits Times.
Yip will front the French prestige brand’s Love Your Age campaign, which promotes its Advanced Genifique serum. The campaign aims to encourage women to live life to the full at every age – something Yip can certainly attest too, as the first Singaporean to bring home an Paralympic gold for Singapore, and the country’s youngest Nominated Member of Parliament.
“It’s rare to see a person with a disability in a beauty ad. However, I think more people are starting to look beyond the disability and truly see someone for who they are,” Yip told The Straits Tines. Other faces in the campaign include Anita Kapoor and Eunice Olsen.
