THE WHAT? Lancôme Singapore has launched an audiobook club, Behind the Cover, which aims to celebrate women writers as well as boost literacy among women from disadvantaged backgrounds, according to a report published by AFP Relax.
THE DETAILS The L’Oréal-owned brand will send participants a free audiobook as well as author content and activities designed to engage and inspire. The first book, Girl, Women, Other, explores the themes of identity, race and womenhood.
Further books will be announced in the coming weeks.
THE WHY? The club is part of Lancôme’s wider Words for Work: Women in Leadership initiative, which is designed to tackle poor literacy.
