The Estée Lauder Companies has created a new role in its Travel Retail division. Israel Assa has been appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager, Business Operations, Travel Retail Worldwide, effective July 1, 2016.

Assa will be based in Switzerland, charged with leading the company’s three regional travel retail divisions, and reporting to President, Travel Retail Worldwide, Olivier Bottrie.

“Israel’s relationships with retailers and airport management, combined with his deep understanding of the Travel Retail business and our brands, make him an ideal candidate for this key leadership appointment. I am looking forward to working with him in this new capacity,” said Bottrie.

Assa joined the company’s travel retail division in 2001 and has held the role of SVP and GM, Estée Lauder, Travel Retail Worldwide, since 2014. The company has yet to announce a successor for Assa’s former position.
