Lipotec scours the world’s oceans for new cosmetic ingredients

Lipotec is touring the world’s oceans on the hunt for new cosmetic ingredients inspiration. The Barcelona-based company has selected nine ingredients of marine origin from nine destinations on a global expedition it has named Marine Beauty.

The ingredients include the anti-aging Hyanify, derived from the Laminara algae, which grows in the Aber Wrac’h estuary, Antarcticine, a moisturising agent developed from a water-retaining bacterium that thrives in the extreme conditions of Antartica’s ice-cold waters, and skin brightener Actiphyte wakame, which is extracted from the eponymous Japanese seaweed.

All ingredients are CDFA listed, and therefore can be included in formulations worldwide.
