Lipotype launches Lipotype Shotgun Skin Lipidomics technology

German Max-Planck spin-off, Lipotype has launched its innovative Lipotype Shotgun Skin Lipodomics Technology and is offering lipid analysis services for cosmetic claim support, topical drug development, efficacy testing for dermatological pharmacology and the cosmetics industry.

The platform offers a throughput allowing for statistically relevant studies and coverage broad enough to encompass a variety of skin lipids, and is compatible with a convenient sampling technique such as tape stripping.

“We offer unprecedented throughput of hundreds of samples, absolutely quantified with broad coverage of ceramides, triglycerides and other lipids, and this is all available for samples collected by super-easy tape stripping,” explained Kai Simons, Lipotype CEO.

Added Oliver Uecke, Head of Buisness Development and Finance, “We are excited about new possibilities to include skin lipodomics in the product development process of cosmetics companies as well as for biomarker identification for dermatology.”
