L’Oréal and Group Casino have partnered to launch a new retail concept in Paris, according to a report published by the Financial Times.
Le drugstore parisien, as the new concept has been dubbed is set to open its doors at two Franprix locations in Paris this weekend and will mimic the UK / US pharmacy model of selling beauty products and food alongside health care and medicine; the two are rarely combined in France.
Stores will open seven days a week with tills ringing until midnight Monday to Saturday and 8pm on Sunday. Each month, shops will remain open for a 24-hour period, offering wellness services and entertainment round the clock.
The new store will sell products, snacks and accessories in the beauty and wellbeing space as well as offer services such as hairdressers, parcel collection points, cellphone charging stations and restrooms.
“With this ‘Parisian drugstore’ we meet the new expectations of consumers in metropolitan areas,” Jean-Charles Naouri, Casino CEO, told the Financial Times.
“We are very happy to be a player in the change alongside Casino to invent a new beauty experience for consumers in France,” added Jean-Paul Agon, L’Oréal CEO.
