THE WHAT? Francoise Bettencourt Meyers has been named the richest woman in the world for the third year in a row by Forbes. The L’Oréal heiress’ US$80.5 billion fortune has grown some US$5 billion in the last year.  The Co-founder of Walmart’s daughter, Alice Walton was ranked third richest.

THE DETAILS Other women in beauty to make the Billionaires 2023 list include Rihanna, whose successful Fenty make-up range has sent her worth to a heady US$1.4 billion, and Kim Kardashian West with US$1.2 billion.

THE WHY? Bettencourt Meyers leads the field by a considerable margin and as L’Oréal’s stock rose 12 percent in the last year alone, it doesn’t look like she’ll be toppled from the top spot for some time.
