L’Oréal India announces first  Managing Director

L’Oréal India has announced the appointment of Amit Jain as new Managing Director, effective August 2018.

Jain joins the company from his previous position as MD North-West Europe for Akzo Nobel and will succeed Jean-Christophe Letellier, who is said to be moving a larger role in the L’Oreal Groupe in Europe. L’Oréal Asia is said to have seen significant sales growth and revolutionized digital and e-commerce platforms under Letellier’s leadership.

Jain’s appointment sees the first Indian head up the Indian arm of the French beauty house since the subsidiary opened in 1991.

Pierre-Yves Arzel, Vice President South Asia Pacific Zone, L’Oréal, said, “We believe that Amit’s rich global experience with a deep understanding of India, transformational leadership skills and inclusive personality will be an important asset in further developing L’Oréal’s business in India. His mission is to build on our rich talent base and global brands, to make L’Oréal India an engine for growth in Asia.”
