THE DETAILS The Himachal Pradesh facility has installed electric boilers to reduce diesel consumption and sources its energy from a hydropower plant.
THE WHY? The move is part of the French beauty giant’s wider global sustainability agenda, with all manufacturing sites aiming to become carbon neutral by 2025. L’Oréal India said in a statement, per Mint, “By improving energy efficiency and using 100 percent renewable energy, L’Oréal India aims to reduce its CO2 emissions and operate within planetary boundaries.”
