THE WHAT? L’Oreal has announced Ezgi Barcenas as Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer. Barcenas replaces Alexandra Palt who is stepping down, effective April 1.
THE DETAILS According to a report published by WWD, Barcenas joins the French beauty giant from AB InBev where she held the role of Chief Sustainability Officer, establishing and running the sustainability function.
THE WHY? Palt is said to be leaving in order to ‘focus on personal endeavours’. Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oreal told WWD, “[Palt’s] courage, energy and vision have enabled L’Oreal to become a pioneering enterprise, expert at delivering positive economic and extra-financial performance. The choice of Ezgi Barcenas, a recognized business and climate leader, to succeed Alexandra is a strong sign of L’Oreal’s reiterated commitment to sustainability transformation and to social responsibility.”
