THE WHAT? L’Oréal has teamed up with Facebook to offer entrepreneurs in Mexico free workshops in order to bolster the digital reach of their businesses, according to a report by Stamford Advocate.
THE DETAILS Workshops will be offered to beauty entrepreneurs, dermatologists, stylists and make-up artists, with L’Oréal and Facebook looking to train 1000 small and medium-sized companies in the fields of dermatology, styling, hairdressing or make-up.
The training will also extend to influencers working in mass consumption and luxury.
Training will be provided by a specialist from GPSCOM on Digital Presence, Messaging (Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp for Business) and Instagram.
THE WHY? The partnership is looking to make a positive social impact in Mexico by giving businesses the tools to develop an online presence, while also capitalizing on the upsurge in online consumers created by the pandemic.
Pablo Sánchez Liste, Chief Communication, Marketing & Digital Officer of L’Oréal México, said, “According to the study of Media and Device Consumption among Mexican Internet users 2020, the number of online shoppers increased from 67% in 2019 to 83% during the pandemic. This trend does not end when the pandemic ends, people have already discovered it and are now enjoying its benefits.”
