L’Oréal and Clarins are said to be in talks over a possible purchase of the latter’s fine fragrance portfolio, according to a report published by Reuters.
“The perfume category is at the heart of our global strategy for growth… we would be thrilled to welcome Mugler and Azzaro,” Cyril Chapuy, President of L’Oréal Luxe, told Reuters. “These signatures, with a long history in fashion and olfaction, would perfectly complete our portfolio of brands.”
Mugler and Azzaro are said to bring in combined sales of €416 million, accounting for just over a quarter of Clarins’ overall sales. Terms of the potential deal have not been disclosed by either party.
