THE WHAT? Several companies have ushered in restrictions or even bans on business travel in a bid to limit the spread of coronavirus, according to a report published by CNN.
THE DETAILS L’Oréal is said to have suspended all business trips until the end of the month as a ‘precautionary measure’ while Unilever has restricted travel to and from northern Italy, as well as advised its employees to travel only where the trip is ‘business critical’.
THE WHY? Multinationals are acting to minimise the risk of employees catching the coronavirus. No doubt weighing the impact of prolonged absences from work against the disruption caused by a temporary travel ban.
