Louis Vuitton is set to launch its first fragrance in 70 years. The famous fashion and accessories brand revealed on its blog, LV Now, that it is preparing for a September 2016 launch.
Les Parfums Louis Vuitton has been four years in the making, with in-house perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud lending his expertise to the project.
The fragrance is said to be inspired by travel – fitting for a brand known for its luxury luggage – and is composed of ‘exotic places and rare materials’ to evoke memories of far-flung destinations. The sneak preview posted by the brand suggests notes of leather, rose and bergamot.
The launch is a smart move for the brand, as sales of premium fragrances and make-up have experienced a boom of late, while luxury fashion and accessories are struggling.
