Lush to support children in Gaza with watermelon soap

THE WHAT? Lush has announced that it will donate 100 percent of the profits from sales of its Watermelon Slice soap to projects providing professional mental health support and trauma counselling for children in Gaza and the West Bank.

THE DETAILS The ethical cosmetics brand’s choice of a watermelon wedge for its ‘soap for hope’ chimes with the use of the fruit featuring the colors of the Palestinian flag to signal support for Gaza.

THE WHY? Lush links to a Save the Children report on its website which reveals that some 95 percent of children in Gaza are reporting feelings of depression, hyperactivity, aggression and a preference for being alone.
